You have your choice of a castle, a pyramid, a palace worthy of Caesar, or a replica of New York City. And that's just for starters. Some of the newer hotels include the Venetian, the Monte Carlo, and the Bellagio. Staying on the strip can save you from driving or hiring a cab since you'll be able to walk to many other hotels and shops. However, don't try walking from one end of the strip to the other. It seems like a short distance, but in the desert heat it's actually a long trek. There is a trolley that gives inexpensive rides up and down the strip. Most hotels have a their own casino, some type of show, and usually several restaurants. Even if you don't gamble, Vegas has a vast amount of things to enjoy. You can even take the day trips to Hoover Dam or the Colorado River if you're more of an outside person.
